Margaritaville on the Orlando CityWalk was recommended to me by a friend as a great spot for gluten-free.
After a long day of Harry Potter-ing at Islands of Adventure, the only question was: Margaritas? Yes, please. Lost shaker of salt? Duh.
Margaritaville has a dedicated gluten-free menu, available on their website. Our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the gluten-free menu.
What followed was awesome/horrifying. I may have never consumed so much food in my life. Which is saying a lot.
We got the Volcano Nachos: chili, cheese, guacamole, jalapenos – about a foot high. Little did we know we were attempting the Mt. Everest of Nachos. We could not have prepared mentally or physically for how large these where. But…I had my eating pants on. From there, I moved on to Catch of the Day: blackened salmon topped with pineapple-mango salsa, with island rice and grilled vegetables.
In order avoid being rolled out of Margaritaville, we had to skip the “Chocolate Hurricane” – a gluten-free brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and macadamia nuts.
